THE MEANING OF KINDEZI
“Kindezi” is a Kikongo word for the traditional system and art of preparing children for life. Communal education, transmission of cultural values, & taking care – of each other, of the community, of resources. Reciprocal giving, cycle of life; it’s about transitioning back where you came and knowing where you’re going. Main Ndezis are the elders, but everyone in this cycle is preparing the child for life & the elders to go.
